Washing dishes at El Jefe’s

Cheyenne was the first to post a picture and then I told this story on Facebook…

“I cannot believe that Chad took me to El Jefe’s and forgot his wallet!”

Then I went on to say:

“And Cheyenne was not happy that she had to wait tables…good thing she is an experienced waitress! The guys just sat back eating chips and salsa – and taking pictures.  I’m NEVER going with them again!”

I debated between that story or this one:

FAMILY SECRETS REVELED

We are enablers! We moonlight on the weekends as kitchen help to feed Chad’s addiction to EL Jefe’s.

Both of those stories sound just as fun as what really happened:

We were at the Awards Banquet for our racetrack, and it was just plain busy. Cheyenne and I had both offered to help the restaurant early on in the evening, and they took us up on it just before the awards ceremony started. We cleared some tables, Cheyenne took some orders and I went to the kitchen to wash dishes. I’ll have to say though…I had a blast. It was hard work and I was sweating like crazy, but I had a fun little washing companion who was showing me the proper way to wash. I learned a little about his business and he learned about ours. The owner said we did such a good job that she would call us to come in and help on busy nights!

In a pinch, Cheyenne and I make a good team!

By the way…the banquet was fun too! I think everyone had a good time. My hubby knows how to throw a good party!

She said yes…the story

IMAG0466

Anthony had taken Cheyenne to a comedy show in Las Vegas at the Hilton and it was just about to start when I got this text message:
Anthony -  I have this ring in my jacket pocket and it’s killing me.
Me -  Good luck!
Anthony -  Thank you, I’m gonna need it.
He didn’t have a plan, but as luck would have it, one was forming fast.

Anthony noticed a guy wandering around taking pictures of couples and thought he might be useful, so he approached the man and asked if he could help him find a way to propose to his girlfriend on stage. After the guy was sure Anthony was serious, he told him he doesn’t have anything to do with the show, but he would go talk to someone and see what he could do. He asked Anthony his name and where he was sitting, and said to keep an eye out for him because if it were possible, he would signal him.

After a while Anthony noticed the guy looking for him so he told Cheyenne that he was going to go get drinks. He found the photographer and was told that one of the comedians was going to let him do it during her set. Oh the luck!

I don’t know how he kept it together through the first comedians set, he said he was so excited, I’m sure he was nervous too. Cheyenne must have thought that he was acting weird, but she didn't have a clue.

Finally, the time arrived. The comedian, Shayma Tash came out and she started talking about couples in love, asking the audience if they were in love. She picked out some guy and asked him if he was in love…yes, he was! She asked him his name and when he said it, she just moved on.

“What’s your name?” she said in his direction, and he just jumped in;  “Anthony” he said, before she could even finish with; “you in the hat”. Then she asked him if he was in love...of course he said yes and she invited him up to the stage to tell his girl how he felt. He jumped up and coaxed Cheyenne to go with him.

Once on stage, Shayma told them that they looked happy and in love.  “Why don’t you tell her how you really feel” she said. So Anthony took the microphone and said “Cheyenne, I love you with all my heart”. He then reached into his jacket pocket for the ring and got down on one knee. Embarrassed, shocked and happy, all at the same time, Cheyenne finally realized what was going on. She just kept repeating “no you didn’t, no you didn’t”. She even turned to walk away for a second and then Anthony asked her to marry him. The audience was screaming “say yes, say yes!” Through her tears, she said yes, but it was so quiet that no one could hear her so he handed her the mic and she repeated it. The audience went crazy with applause and screaming when he put the ring on her finger.

I didn’t notice until later that night after I heard the whole story, I had two more texts from Anthony.
Doing it on stage.
Got a standing ovation.
Well done Son – congratulations! I love you so much!

Where one ends, another begins…

I got a new lens for my camera today. I can ZOOM! It’s awesome!

This first picture, I am standing on my back porch. Using my old lens, and it’s zoomed as far as it can go. DSC_0043

In this one, I am standing on my back porch with my zoom fully extended (sorry, I don’t know the correct terminology, I’m new at this!). The old lens, fully zoomed is also where the new lens starts with no zoom.

Here is the old lens again, fully zoomed.

And the new lens (notice the flag).

This picture would have been impossible with my old lens. I just wouldn’t have been able to get close enough to these birds.  I certainly didn’t know how beautiful they were until I saw the picture.DSC_0053

I can’t wait until tomorrow. I have a feeling I’ve been missing a lot!

I think it’s time…

They have been blooming all summer…

IMAG0577 The birds have  really enjoyed the feast.

IMAG0578But they are starting to look pretty wilted, and only small deformed buds are blooming.

As much as I hate to, I think it’s time to take them out .

IMAG0579Since this is the first year I have ever grown sunflowers, I don’t really know what to do with them. IMAG0580So I have a few question:

Do I cut them down and they will grow back?

Or do I need to take them out completely and start fresh again with new seed?

Can I grow another crop before winter, or is it too late to grow anymore this year?

IMAG0581

hmmm…sounds like something to google (unless you know the answer).

It’s not only the birds that will miss these sunflowers.

Can two people see the same rainbow?

I hope so, because this one was just beautiful!

So many to choose from

I was just wondering which pictures I should post.

I have so many. A lot from today too.                                                                            Like this one of my Punky in the flag stand during the test and tune at the track tonight.

IMAG0167

Or this one of the sunset during the test and tune at the track tonight.

IMAG0240

Or this one of my sister, in her car, passing my Punky in the flag stand during the test and tune at the track tonight.

IMAG0141

or this one of my Monkey in the pit booth during the test and tune at the track tonight.

IMAG0263

Or this one of my Monkey and the sunset during the test and tune at the track tonight.IMAG0175

Or this one of random cars during the test and tune at the track tonight.IMAG0274

I really like this one. It’s Monkey…and the sunset…during the test and tune…at the track…tonight. Surprised?IMAG0217

Or instead of all of these pictures from the test and tune at the track tonight.

I could just post this. My Ruby is so loyal.

Windows Live Writer

I have a new editor for my blog. It’s really neat. There are so many fun gadgets to play with.  For example:

It has some very easy font styles

that can be changed with just one click.

Which is nice.

It's also easier to add links

Fireworks at the track

Adding pictures is a breeze, and the picture tool has all kinds of gadgets to edit my pictures. Like:

A watermark, which I am really excited to use.

Val loving Monkey

And picture frames

Race track parking lot

And a tilt tool

Hobo

And just so you know, this post has 102 words. Go ahead, count.

I think blogging has just become fun again!
