They're not all Yellow

Some are orange...ish red.

some red...ish orange and yellow
All are beautiful...
And I'm stuck on sunflowers right now.

The View From My Window

My new job is making life in the summer desert more bearable.
This is the view from my office window.

And at lunch, I can gaze out this window in the kitchen and watch this hummingbird fly to and from her mud nest under the eves.

This little area is where the lizards and hawks hang out.
can you find the hawk?

I haven't ventured outside yet to take pictures. For now I'm content taking them through the glass from the inside.  I imagine that when I do go out there, I won't want to go back to work.

Blooming Sunshine

I planted these sunflowers in early May. By the 15th, they were already growing pretty good.

May 31, they were half way up the fence. I had no idea they would grow so fast.

When Kristy got here a week ago, they were almost as tall as her.

And now they are towering over both of us.
They have been growing so fast, that the leaves have been getting stuck in the fence as they twist in and out of the links.
The stocks are loaded with buds.
And yesterday, one of the buds started opening.
Only to beautifully bloom today.

I love sunflowers...they make me happy!

Grand Opening

This is Maverik a couple of months ago. It's a convenience store that has been highly anticipated.

Yesterday, they opened. I'm happy to report that I was one of the very first customers to pump gas here. I got there early in the afternoon and I wasn't sure they were open yet. But by the time I left, each bay was full and there were happy customers everywhere.

Welcome Maverik!

The Boys been busy

The wall at the track needed some painting,
And he was happy to do it (you can tell by that smile).
He spent most of the day working on it.
And it looks fantastic (the red was his idea).
All that hard work called for some rest and relaxation afterwards.
And the lake was just the place to do it.
